Try the NEW #codeplay upgrades to Dance Party
To celebrate our partnership with Coldplay, we’ve added cool new effects to this favorite activity.
We’ve teamed up with award-winning band Coldplay to launch a global campaign that celebrates music and computer science. Students are invited to take part by using our popular Hour of Code activity, Dance Party, to code out-of-this-world moves and share them with the world!
As part of this unique campaign, we’ve made some awesome updates to Dance Party that we think you’ll love:
Code + Coldplay = #codeplay
To give Coldplay a warm welcome to the party, we’ve added their Grammy-nominated single, “Higher Power” to Dance Party. We’ve also added a brand-new background effect, also called “Higher Power,” that features the glowing symbols from the song’s music video and album art. Try them out and share on social media using #codeplay to join the fun!
New formations, effects, and songs!
Even those who have completed all ten levels of Dance Party before can find something new. We’ve refreshed the default songs on each level: Try coding along to the sounds of Dua Lipa, Olivia Rodrigo, Harry Styles, and more. There are also new dancer formations: Spiral, which will arrange your dancers in a spiral, and Infinite, which makes your dancer appear in an infinite line. Plus, you can now increase your number of dancers: You can make up to 40 cats, robots, pineapples, and the rest of the Dance Party crew bust a move!
Since it launched in 2018, Dance Party has engaged more than 5.7 million students! We hope these new features excite even more students around the world to unlock their own “Higher Power” by learning the critical thinking and problem-solving skills that computer science fosters.
